Il Fornaio del Casale Spa started operating as a traditional wholesaler in order to become a company specialized in the production and distribution of cakes, savoury snacks, carnival products, confectionary and alternatives bread.

  • The careful selection of healthy and quality food in the production process is the main aim of our company which has developed the capacity to produce and supply the best products both in Italy and in the world.
  • Il Fornaio del Casale Spa has two distribution platforms: the first one is based in Casale sul Sile, near Venice, and the other one in Faenza, near Rimini.
  • This organisation allows us to reach, even on a weekly basis, warehouses and supermarkets in the North of Italy and on the Adriatic coast.
  • The factory is 4,000 square metres wide and the warehouse covers 15,000 square metres in the commercial area.
  • Around 80 people are currently employed in the production site, distribution platforms and sales offices.
  • In 2016 our company had a turnover beyond 30 million euros. We foresee a turnover of approximately 34 million euros for 2017, thanks also to the development of our foreign market.

1969 – Il Fornaio del Casale Spa was established in 1969 as a traditional wholesaler specialized in industrial pastries, cakes and alternatives bread.

1990 – In 1990 the Gecchele brand was created to represent its products. Our company developed its business not only in the Veneto region, but also in the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardia regions.

2001 – In 2001 Il Fornaio del Casale Spa opened a branch in Faenza increasing its turnover in the Emilia Romagna, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo regions

2004 – In 2004 a new plant for the production of typical Carnival products (Crostoli, Galani and Chiacchere) allowed the company to become a market leader in that sector.

2007 – In 2007 our company purchased a plant for the production of Ciambelle.

2008 – From 2008 to 2010 further equipment’s were installed for the production of ready made cakes and the production area was enlarged to 3,000 square metres.

2013 – In 2013 a new machinery was bought to produce savoury snacks and in the following year the company developed covering an area of 12,000 square metres.

2017 – In 2017 a new production cake line starts in order to reach 7 production lines in total.

2018 – In 2018 has begun the digital process of the company: is online the new website www.gecchele.com. 2019 is the 50° anniversary of the company.

  • 3 production lines dedicated to Carnival and Easter products such as Crostoli, Gala

Chiacchere, Castagnole and Focacce;

  • 3 production lines necessary for ready-made cakes covering different production technologies:

– Short pastry – Ciambelle
– Leavened
– Plumcake

– Dripped

  • 1 production line for Savoury Snacks, made with:

– Sunflower oil High oleic;
– No Glutamate;
– Only Italian Raw materials.
